UNAUTHORIZED DEVELOPMENT OF CROWN LAND IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED
GRAND TURK, Turks and Caicos Islands; Friday, October 9th, 2009; The public is hereby advised that the unauthorized development of crown land is strictly prohibited and is punishable under Section 3 of the Crown Land Illegal Occupation Ordinance.
The Ministry of Environment & District Administration is therefore appealing to all members of the public who are constructing on Crown Land without proper authorization from the Government to desist immediately. Further, those persons that have built illegal structures on Crown Land should have them removed forthwith.
The Ministry will be taking a zero tolerance approach towards squatting, and will begin reclaiming Crown Land shortly. This process will be carried out on a district-by-district basis and will begin with the Five Cays area. Therefore, all squatters in the Five Cays area are being asked to remove any and all improvement made on Crown Land. Noncompliance will result in the Ministry removing it for you, at your cost, so be WARNED.
