Dear Mr. Burke:
TCi Journal and Shaun Malcolm do not speak for me, my family or anyone that I know. We do not read TCI Journal posts and we purposely are not aquatinted with any of the people involved with Shaun Malcolm. They are looked at as thugs. Please keep up the good work.

I am a convert. I use to stay out of the political debates. It seemed confusing to me and I could never believe who was telling the truth. But now I am involved. I wonder why you TCIwatch has not commented about the forced, hostage health insurance plan that the governor insists upon us. Why do you remain silent about that Mr. Burke?
It is inconceivable that anyone could have a positive opinion about this. Even in the United States, the government is considering a health care plan for all, but shall be paid out of the government taxes. Individuals there are not being directly charged for something that they do not want or do not agree with. This is preposterous governing. What can be done to stop this foolishness? Why are we a captive to the whims of Wetherell who is forcing us to accept a health care plan for us to be charged without exception? Have you ever heard of such an undemocratic thing in your life? Not only are we being taxed, levied and stifled, but we are forced to pay for something without a consensus or vote from the people? I am completely enraged.
CR
By: Chris Burke I think that this is undemocratic as well. Imposed health care is something that people should vote on and if not, should be paid out of the government coffers. The UK should never impose this and force people to pay, to boot.

Dear Editor: I am wondering if you saw the different articles in our national newspapers of the last 24 hours. It seems that the press is now trying to undermine each other. You have Turks and Caicos Net news trying to discredit The Sun. I really wish this would stop already. To their credit, Turks and Caicos Net News did print a thoughtful letter by a local calling for the voice of local leadership. But I cannot help but think that we are being hijacked by people who have the ability to speak for us. I am upset by this. Hayden Boyce reported news as was coming down from Blaze, does not make his report incorrect when he reported it? Or did he misreport as Net news is trying to say? Now we have Net news calling everyone corrupt too in their article this morning? We just want all of this to stop. Life was much simpler before when we did not have the distraction of political battles and financial troubles that now keep us worried sick about our futures.
I do agree that opinions should be shared, but our main stream national news needs to be held to standards and speak for US. I do not protest the Net news trying to report the news but I also think that it should consider that reporting negatively about another news source for their own political views does not represent my views. I am glad that people went to protest. Many did not attend because they are worried about retaliation. Now that I read this sort of opinion by Net news, I wish I would have gone to make a point that it wasn't about a corruption party in front of the Governor's house.

By: Chris Burke I see your point. I am still waiting for Net News to post my comments. I would think that opposing view points, if done respectfully, would be welcomed.

I was just simply floored when I read that Shaun Malcolm had written parliament again signing our names as a people. I am not sure what he is after, but all of his actions are politically motivated. I know that he was kicked out of his own party ages ago, the People's Democratic Movement. He also had a fight with his old buddy Floyd Seymour, the former PDM leader, who Shaun also accuses now of corruption.
What sort of political endeavor is he on? We cannot understand why he thinks that he is the conscience of our people. He certainly is not in the running for political office, nobody would vote for him. He does not appear to work. He celebrates when resort developments close whilst our people are reeling from the resulting unemployment and loss of prosperity.
Shaun Malcolm takes pot shots at anyone in his way. Malcolm used some anonymous names again to accuse the new PDM leader Doug Parnell of not having a high school diploma or he questioned it. He uses damaging innuendo to mold and fold politics in Turks and Caicos. But why?
I know about the open secret that David "Jumpy" Hartshorn finances Shaun Malcolm (quite lavishly it appears). But what is in it for Hartshorn to be so vested in politics? I hear now that Jumpy used to work for Lord Ashcroft's development holding Johnston Intl. I think that some crafty investigators should work on that relationship exposure. I don't mean to insinuate that there is a grudge causing this because why would anyone go to these lengths to destroy a country over a grudge? It makes no sense.
What happened to the United Nation's resolution in October calling for the return of TCI's constitution from the British? Can't any of the international communities help to sort this out?
We, as a people, feel defeated. We are up against people like Queen Elizabeth now, Lord Michael Ashcroft, the UK Parliament. We do not know where to turn to voice our concerns as world citizens. It is so layered and corrupt on all sides. But now we have one of the ultimate corrupt societies running our affairs claiming that Misick is corrupt. This makes no sense either.
I feel buried in all of the political quagmire. I was excited about the possibility of having a new leader in Doug Parnell. However, I see it coming already. He is already being assumed as corruptible by Shaun Malcolm. In his recent letter to parliament Malcolm insinuated that Parnell could be bought off by Ashcroft. If that's the drum that Malcolm is beating now, the UK will never leave and restore our constitution. We will be stuck in a gerbil wheel trying to elect leaders who are immediately impeached by Malcolm's innuendo and agenda.
Where's the light at the end of the tunnel for us?

I am so disgusted that Shaun Malcolm uses Belonger jobs for sympathy and for political gain. He clearly doesn't give a crap about Belonger's jobs or Turks and Caicos' economic success.
If he really cared about TCI, he would not wish for any tourist destinations to fail. It's like he doesn't have a common sense scale or reasoning. 5 Belonger jobs v. $100 million a year in tourism stimulus. Did Shaun
Malcolm go to college? He says that he's a CPA specialising in forensics, yet he cannot distinguish beween Belonger jobs v. resorts bringing in millions to the Turks and Caicos economy.
I don't think he's that dumb. Is Shaun Malcolm really that stupid or is it an act? He says that a resort should fail because it only hired 50 Belongers? Do you know how many more Belongers will fail because of the lack of
spending when a resort closes. Go back to college Malcolm or just leave us to figure out your mess.

Letter from a reader October 16, 2009
Dear Mr. Burke:
I have noticed that your articles single out Shaun Malcolm. I am wondering why you have not implicated Mr. Malcolm's partner in crime Richard Berke? It is regrettable, the position that the islands are in. But I do not think it's fair to single out Shaun Malcolm alone. There are several people who write for TCI Journal who [sic] running amok. Richard Berke is a regular contributor and writes several articles and I know that he is a real person.
Name Withheld
Dear NW:
Thank you for your comments. I do know that Richard Berke is a contributor to TCI Journal. I think you ask a good question, why do I not pick on Richard Berke but on Shaun Malcolm. I believe that those are the only two contributors to TCI Journal. The rest are merely pseudonyms of Shaun Malcolm.
Here is your answer. When I started on this case, I was prompted by the Wikileaks publishing of the UK commission of enquiry report. That document was leaked by Shaun Malcolm. I immediately noted the carelessness of his words upon his publication. Moreover, Malcolm is the person whom I have been investigating. I believe the publicity of this victory of Malcolm's publishing of the report, has cost the islands plenty. It demoralised foreign investors and caused an escalating decline in the TCI economy. He did so with such self-jubliee. It is difficult to believe that he did it out of concern. He has created a crisis with his carelessness.
While I disagree with Mr. Berke's motivation and analysis within his articles, I also find him to be straight forward. When I read his articles, though I do so with a grain of salt considering the source, I also see that he does not use innuendo or irreverent and immature insults to make his point.
Not only are many people defamed thus ruined in such a small community, but Malcolm offers no solution to any of his complaints which proves that he attempts to manipulate the public without goals to mend. That he signs off with a God Bless, is ridiculous. And no, people do not email me to tell me again that he stole from the mass choir so he has no business saying God Bless. It is more the fact that he uses words of destruction and division and then blesses whomever. Where's the logic? Malcolm's sarcasm and mocking words and mischievous accusations are exactly what makes him disingenuous and distrusted.
Perhaps some citizens can riddle me this: Why did the investigator Sir Robin Auld fail to investigate the claims and credibility of Shaun Malcolm, the orchestrator of this mess? Why did they not interview people to see what was behind his agenda. Why did the UK take his word at face value? The UK seems to be the only one who trusts him. Just a question.
Thank you for your question.
Chris Burke
